New Hope Counseling & Consulting

Counseling helps people in many different ways

COUNSELING OR “THERAPY” is an opportunity to gain self-awareness and use life’s difficulties to create growth and change. Talking to a counselor can help you carefully analyze troublesome situations, gain new perspectives, and explore options previously not considered. It can help you process feelings and heal from past losses. Deciding to go see a therapist does not mean that a person is “crazy” or that he or she is weak-willed. Making the choice to see a therapist is courageous and an act of personal empowerment.

Individual counseling can help you:
Improve relationships
Improve self-esteem
Resolve/change unhealthy patterns and addictions
Become more creative and productive
Decrease feelings of anxiety and depression
Clarify life direction
Get "unstuck"
Find peace

Why Should I Go to Counseling?

If you are thinking about whether counseling could be helpful to you, here are some questions to ask yourself.

Do you ever feel ready sad, frustrated, or lonely?
Do you feel especially angry, annoyed, or out-of-control?
Do you feel very anxious, worried, or guilty?
Have you experienced some major problems at home, work or school?
Have you noticed some changes in the way you sleep, eat, or think and feel about life?
Is it hard for you to talk about these feelings with your family or friends?
Are these feelings having a bad effect on your life?
Are they making your work and your relationships with family and friends difficult?

Counseling can help you understand your feelings and problems and learn how to deal with them in your everyday life.
